Oklahoma Man Sentenced for Social Security Disability Fraud

STANLEY J. GATZ, 55, of El Reno, Oklahoma, was sentenced today by United States District Judge David L. Russell to serve three years’ probation and pay $18,561.60 in restitution for defrauding the Social Security Administration (SSA) to receive disability benefits, announced Sanford C. Coats, United States Attorney for the Western District of Oklahoma. 

According to Court records and information from the plea hearing and sentencing, Gatz was receiving SSA disability benefits after representing that he was totally disabled.  Gatz failed to advise SSA that he was working as a self-employed truck driver in Oklahoma City and further represented to the SSA that he was not employed when, in fact, he was working as a truck driver.   Gatz was charged on August 25, 2011, and pled guilty on September 15, 2011, to illegally receiving $18,561.60 in Social Security disability benefits

This case was the result of an investigation conducted by the Social Security Administration Office of Inspector General and was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Jim Robinson.STANLEY J.
