As part of our commitment to transparency and accountability, we undergo periodic peer reviews conducted by other federal OIGs. These reviews assess our audit and investigative operations to ensure compliance with professional standards and best practices.

Since October 2019, we have shared information on our efforts to combat Social Security-related scams with key Congressional committees. The Quarterly Scam Report provides information about Social Security-related imposter scam trends and the agency’s ongoing efforts to address them.

Our semiannual reports summarize our oversight activities, accomplishments, and recommendations to improve the integrity, efficiency, and effectiveness of Social Security programs. The reports highlight significant audits, investigations, and initiatives, as well as the impact of our work in preventing and detecting fraud, waste, and abuse.

These reports identify the most significant challenges facing the Social Security Administration in achieving its mission and improving its operations. Each report outlines key areas of concern, such as program integrity, service delivery, and information security, and provides recommendations for addressing these challenges.
